I don't know who put her on Sahara Stage where are DJ's. I thought she will be on the other stage on Coachella performing own shit. She is nice producer but she can't DJ. Also she can't do simple math and divide by 2. She is total mess. She had problems with own equipment in the past.
And there DJ set on Coachella was a disaster for her. I was watching this live on youtube and can't believe.
8 mistakes on 50 minutes DJ Set. You can't do this like this on that big show.
Anyway crowd was a zombie or so high that they liked interruptions more than music lol
I hope she learned a lesson. She will be at Coachella once again next weekend.

I read the comments she made on a news website. She was blaming her issues on whoever setup the files on an external drive. Not in order on the playlist and 2x bpm or whatever; is not like a laptop crashing. Is preparing the music too much work?

 

Yeah. Like she commissioned someone to prepare the files for rekordbox and make the markers on beats and after that some of tracks was in 2x speed. I don't know if because someone who prepared them clicked 2x by mistake or because DJ decks on stage was configured differently.
I don't understand why she do this. Why she commissioned preparing the files to someone?
You had one job. It is like an hour of work for 12 tracks. She was too busy of generating visuals in AI?
Also I don't understand how she can't divide by 2. You can do it in few seconds, enough time to put headphones, calculate and put pitch slider down. But if you mix without headphones and you rely on software that does everything for you when you press the sync button. And also you do it blindly on files that were prepared by someone.
It doesn't take much for a disaster to occur.

Don't care about her, the only thing that saddens me in this whole story is the fact that a competent DJ could be in her place if the music industry wasn't such a sinkhole.

That's funny. She did not check the setup once, before playing it live. She is probably pretty much up her ass and was told by the entourage, that she's killing it. It's the "Lil Wayne I can play guitar live"-syndrome.

She sounded a bit wasted and slurry in bits of her ranting too. It's the unprofessional response that I would find more concerning if I was a promoter, from the constant interruptions and screaming ruining whatever vibe she did get going (first 15-20 minutes she was apparently doing a decent job) to the throwing the music prep person under the bus (which was probably her sober self anyway!). DJs sometimes mess things up or have issues, but the response to it tells you a lot, and most decent DJs would just be prepared enough and understand their gear enough to get things sorted and get back into it.

Stuff happens, but usually you do not read about it on cnn. it's like the script for a Snowden sequel from when the writers were on strike. She has to make it there with the flash drive full of secret files from Pasadena.

 

Yeah, exactly! It was very unproffesional. It was her fault. All those interruptions and screams and talking the same over and over.
She screamed 9 times if I remember correctly.
Those interruptions was unecessary and breaking the flow.
Shit happens. But how you deal with problems show if you are professional or no.
She should just trying to hide all difficulties and after the show put disclaimer on social media or speak at the end of the set like:
"Sorry for bad transitions between most of the songs on my last dj set at Coachella, my djing isn't perfect. I relied on software sync. I unnecessarily outsourced the preparation of the files to an external person, which resulted in a problem with 2x speed of some songs and ruined transitions. I was not prepared for that which resulted poor transitions between songs like you heard. I am sorry. It was a lesson for me. I promise I handle this next time."

I don't blame her personally, its hot and sweaty out there, and the suntan lotion makes your hands oily and the records get slippery. she should probably use less oil and more xanax. Also more dancers so people don't notice your incompetent, always work, checkout any act since 1999.

I made a vow when I started my career to never play Coachella, and so far I've kept it.....
its rather a long list, also Madison Square Garden, etc.
short list really is my bedroom, local bars and hardware store openings, thats where i've really got artistic freedom and a proper venue. plus I usually know where the bathroom is.

One of her unreleased songs with Sub Focus was called "Synchronize"
She had problems to play this track because BPM was not synchronized
